Burn Ban Lifted

East Lincoln County Fire District would like to share
backyard burn season is open.  

Please read and abide by the following information.
Open burn season starting October 12, 2025.

For all burning situations:

    •    fuel: Only wood product or yard debris
    •    Size limits: The fire pile or mound cannot exceed 3 feet in diameter and 2 feet in height.
    •    Safety clearance: The fire must be at least 15 feet away from any structure or combustible material. East Lincoln County Fire Department recommends 25 feet if space allows.
    •    Attendance: The fire must be constantly monitored until it is completely extinguished.
    •    Equipment: A water hose or other extinguishing source must be readily available at the burn site. 

These materials may never be open burned (including and especially in fireplaces, burn barrels, etc.):

Garbage
Plastic
Asbestos
Wire insulation
Automobile parts
Asphalt
Petroleum treated materials
Painted wood and wood treated with creosote or pentachlorophenol
Rubber products including tires
Animal remains
Animal or vegetable matter resulting from the handling, preparation, cooking or service of food
Any other material that emits dense smoke or noxious odors

Large fires as in land clearing need to go through Oregon Department of Forestry
